TV Paint 10 - Windows Explorer Crashing

Post by hilary »

Hi-
Not sure if many people are having this issue - I have heard that Don and the students at Cap college are having it but Windows Explorer keeps crashing on me when I try to open a TVP 10 file or if I just open a folder that contains a TVP file it crashes. I am on Windows 7 (64 bit). Any ideas? No crashes when I open files from TVP using the system browser..
Cheers,
Hilary

There is a workaround:
Go to C:\>Windows>System32>TVPaint10Thumbnail64.dll and change that to:TVPaint10Thumbnail64xxx.dll
(add a few x's before .dll)
You won't see TVP's thumbnails until the next release. Tell this to all your friends and relatives. :)

Thanks Paul! - I will pass this on to the students at Cap - I haven't upgraded is this still happening on the latest TVP version? (10.0.4)

Frankly, I don't know because I am always on one beta version or another. Hopefully, someone else will be able to answer your question quickly enough.

I have the answer: not yet. This will be fixed in the next update so please use the workaround.
