I'm running TVPaint Standard, v.9.5 and I just updated to OSX Lion (10.7). Now, when I launch TVPaint, it tells me "Can't create cache file: /Volumes/Spiff/Cache/TVPaint Scratch/tvpaint545.1032.tmp Use default path"
I hit "OK" and then TVPaint suits. The volume "Spiff" no longer exists, but that shouldn't matter. I have reinstalled the software and I have deleted the .plist preference files from both my library and the system library. It still won't work and I get the same message.
TVPaint won't start
Re: TVPaint won't start
It is strange that it quits... I'll take a look.
As a workaround, you can "fake" a Spiff volume to start TVPaint, then change the tmp dir in Preferences to the new place, and quit TVPaint to save the new location.
Then you can get rid of the fake Spiff volume.
The simplest way is to use the command line, typing in a terminal. It will ask you for your password, that's normal.
If you don't feel comfortable with a terminal, you can google one of the numerous other ways, my second choice would be using a USB-drive or SD-card named "Spiff".
