Hello,
I just received my TVP disk and dongle and I loaded it onto my computer with these specs:
TVP Standard (10.0.11-32bit)
Macbook Pro 10.8.2
2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Wacom Intuos 4 (PTK-640)
When I hover and shake my stylus (or my mouse) over the surface of my drawing tablet, the brush size reduces spontaneously. I just downloaded the new wacom driver, and I looked through your forum to see if anyone else had this problem. At first I though I might be touching the "wheel" on the tablet inadvertently while I was drawing, but when I grabbed my mouse and lightly shook it about an inch or so above the drawing area, the brush size reduced sporadically the same was as the stylus. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for your time!

Hi TSC,
Can you try to reset your configuration ?
Go into "Edit => Preferences => Startup Tab" and set the "Starting Project Settings" to "Startup Panel".
Then restart your TVPaint, you will see a panel. Then click on "New", enter a name, and then click on OK.
See if this works.

Re: Hovering Stylus/mouse brush size change?
Does the size really change in the "Tool" panel ? I mean the text field displaying the size.
I think what you see is just the preview changing size, and because size depends on pressure, and there is obviously no pressure when the stylus doesn't touch the tablet, the size is ill defined.
If the size really changes in the text field, that's a weird bug !

Hello again,
Thank you both for your prompt reply!
Eric~ I went through the steps you suggested and it is still happening.
emateki~ Yes, the text field in the tool bin (on the left) changes when I swipe my hand over the an inch or so above surface of my tablet with my stylus and/or mouse. I'm right handed, so when I am doing a "back and forth air swipe" before I touch the surface of my tablet and draw the line I was warming up to lay down, on the inward gesture of my hand (Still in the air) the text field reduces the brush size in the tool bin. This happens with any of the various brushes I chose. I mostly work by grabbing a colored pencil from the sketch panel and drawing away, but I tested this with all of the brushes and it happens every time.
Thank you two for your help, I hope we can figure this out!
PS. Eric~ I just reset TVP one more time just to make sure I did exactly what you said, and yup, it's still happening...

Open the keyboard shortcut panel "TopMenu > Edit > Preferences" then "Keyboard Shorts Configure..." (Shorts ?!?!?!?, localisation bug...)
Then move your pen as you do when it changes the size, and look if it doesn't generate "Mouse Wheel" shortcuts.
If it does, it must be in your wacom configuration.

Eric~
I did notice one thing different in your description of how to reset TVP. The panel that pops up before my TVP opens looks like the picture I've included in this post. I don't see a spot for 'New' or a place to put a name. I did hit reset configuration though, and that's when TVP loads its default screen.
Thanks again for your time!

Hello Yet Again!
Thanks for your help you guys!
Emateki~ So, I went Edit/Preferences/General/Keyboard Shortcuts/Configure...
Then, Configure Keyboard Shortcuts Menu popped up with all of the letters and hotkeys listed. Near the bottom, in the left column, in the the "wheel up and down" section I unassigned those shortcuts and voila! The problem stopped!
I will keep you guys informed if it happens again, but thank you so much for your help!
Viva la TVP!
Much love from the Wild and Wet Pacific NW!
