Summit Fever

Post by fullmetal-animator »

Here's an image from a student film that I worked on as animation director last year at Ballyfermot College, Dublin.

It tells the story of a mountain climber who comes across an old rivalry in his bid to summit an inaccessible mountain peak.

The short itself is only available as a private video online and I'm not sure when if ever we will be willing to make it public but I thought it would be ok to share this image regardless. It has recently been shown in the Corona Cork film festival earlier this November.

Interesting effect with the bright outlines and that inner halo. Did you try to imitate the look of a certain brand of Anime?

Lol. Anime. xD

No, we were just trying to use glow effects to compliment the colour pallets and setting.

Hi Elodie.

Yes, a vast majority of the film was animated using TVP. A few scenes such as the silhouetted ones were done in Flash but I'd still consider this a showcase of TVP.
