These files were saved in a folder in my "Downloads". I'm on a Mac.

Hmmm...I know nothing about Macs. Do you see your backup files now? They should be lined up below your original file; they have the same name followed by lots of numbers. Go to the place where you saved your project and drag one of those backuop files onto TVP -- unless it's not done in the Mac that way.

Well, what happens when you open a backup file?

Sorry, it's way past my bedtime; I get up at 4 AM and it doesn't look like I can be of any help to you anyway. You'll get to talk to the right people first thing tomorrow morning, I'm sure.

Hello Maryam, welcome to the forum.

First of all, don't forget to tell us more about your computer when you post a request : http://forum.tvpaint.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6167" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Elodie wrote:When you have an issue with TVPaint Animation, please, don't forget to precise important details :

• What is your OS and its version :
  • - Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger) 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), etc...
    - Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc...
    - Linux Ubuntu 10.04+, Debian 6+, RedHat Entreprise Linux 5+, Fedora 15+
• What is your OS architecture (32 or 64 bit)
• What is your software version (for example : Mirage 1.5, TVPaint 9.5.21, TVPaint 10.0.11, etc...)
• What is your software edition (Standard or Professional)
• For the Professional Edition of TVPaint 10 : What is the architecture (32 or 64 bit) ?

Moreover, don't forget that the more you will give us concrete examples with images or downloadable files, the faster we could answer you.
Secondly, I see you are still running TVPaint 10.0.4. Maybe you should update your software here and see if your problem is solved : http://www.tvpaint.com/v2/content/artic ... pdate.php/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd like to understand something :
• do your files completely disappear from your hard drive
• or do they still exist, but they are empty when you open them ?

As Paul said, we never had such issue with the software. So, at the moment, I'm most thinking about a Mac issue than a TVPaint issue.

It's updated now.

Do you know why it says "TVPaint Animation 10.0.14.9877s Std (x86-32).dmg" on the download. does 32 mean 32 bit?
even though my mac is 64bit?

Yes, 32 means 32 bits.
The Non-por version is only available in 32 bits.

Please upload one of the broken files somewhere and send me the link to it, maybe we can do something about them, but NO PROMISE !

How big is it ? I think 10Mb is the maximum size my inbox will accept.

Compress it first, and try it, we'll see if it arrives here.

I could send you 3 different files.
I can send you 1 now which is 7mb compressed. What's your email please?

I tried to compose a private message here but I couldn't work out how to attach a file to it.

You click on my avatar, there you'll have a button to email me.

This reduce the risk of spam-bots getting my email.

Sorry I couldn't find the email button. There is only a button for private message and when I click that, I can't find a way of attaching a file.

So I have uploaded it to my Dropbox. Here is a link, Can you see if you can download it please. I have tested the link in another laptop, so it should work
hopefully.

Many thanks.
