add Camera movement = TVP crash

Post by thomasteraoka »

Hi there, I'm having camera problem: I worked on a scene with camera movement, I'm going back to it now after not touching it for a while. In the scene I'm trying to add another camera move-- but when I do, TVP crashes, every time, on different computers, even without anything else running. My clip is a camera movement panning to the top then back to the bottom... so my time profile goes all the way up and then back all the way down. Adding another camera point between the two points crashes TVP. Playback works fine. Does anyone have ideas for me?

Which version of TVP and which OS? It would also help if you could add a screen print of your Camera position Profile, including your camera Panel's settings.

I would say the same as Paul wrote above : we need more information before it would be possible to troubleshoot your issue.

See the topic at the top of this forum: Read me first before posting a question
When you have an issue with TVPaint Animation, please, don't forget to precise important details :

• What is your OS and its version :

- Mac OSX 10.4 (Tiger) 10.5 (Leopard), 10.6 (Snow Leopard), 10.7 (Lion), 10.8 (Mountain Lion), etc...
- Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, etc...
- Linux Ubuntu 10.04+, Debian 6+, RedHat Entreprise Linux 5+, Fedora 15+

• What is your OS architecture (32 or 64 bit)

• What is your software version (for example : Mirage 1.5, TVPaint 9.5.21, TVPaint 10.0.11, etc...)

• What is your software edition (Standard or Professional)

• For the Professional Edition of TVPaint 10 : What is the architecture (32 or 64 bit) ?

Moreover, don't forget that the more you will give us concrete examples with images or downloadable files, the faster we could answer you.

oops sorry about that!

Mac OSX Lion, 10.7.5,
TVP PRO version 10.0.17- 64bit

I played around with Time profile settings, Tool settings, but what ultimately worked(!) is I deleted the camera points, and just re placed my camera points. The time profile was saved, and my shot was very simply a straight line, but I can imagine this more frustrating for a more complex pathway, to have to delete some intricate camera movement. Anyway, I'll keep checking to see if you guys find out anything, but this is no longer an issue for me :)

Interesting. I have Mac OS Lion 10.7.5 and I have TVPaint 10.0.17 , but I cant reproduce the problem you describe.

I'm glad it's not longer an issue for you.
