Re: cut brush puzzle

Post by Sierra Rose »

Thanks about the backup -- I meant to do that and forgot while puzzling over the other.

I tried unchecking the stroke animator but it doesn't make any difference. But here's a new odd thing. I switched commands between the upper and lower side switch to see if it would help. So now the upper switch is the right click and the lower one the light table. But the pen still functions with the old setting: upper switch turns on and off the light table while the lower basically does nothing.

It's odd because the right mouse does exactly what I want -- it either is an eraser when I am in pen mode or it becomes a cut freehand when I am in brush mode. And when I use it as an eraser, it does not change my mode to erase.

The side switches on my pen will obey any command except the one I want.

Can you disable the Wintab option in your parameters ?

I did it and restarted TVP. No improvement.

hm...

At your place, I would reset my wacom parameters. Sincerely, I don't know why the right click on your pen doesn't work. Does anyone here have such an issue ?

I have reset the wacom parameters over and over trying different things. For now I will simply switch to the mouse for those wanted functions. Should I recheck the wintab?

I gather there is no direct command for a cut brush so I can't make a button on a custom panel for it. Do you think this could a future addition?

I couldn't get the switch to work that way either. I have a button on a custom panel to have it close by.

That's exactly what I meant in my last post. I made that exact button on a custom panel but it only copies unless my brush edit is set to cut. I don't want to cut all the time. I can't find a command that will separately let me have the command to cut...it still depends on what the brush edit panel setting is.

I have it set to cut all the time and if I want to copy I just hit my "Undo last action" key, which now turns my cut into a copy. It's very easy to slip into this routine without giving it another thought.

Yes, I have resigned myself to this work around too. It used to be so nice to just press the little button, heh heh.

Well this is a whole new world, thanks so much to you and Boom. Wow and double wow.
I still cannot program a brush to only cut unless the brush edit is on cut. But this virtual ring is wonderful and freeing. I still have to work with it to get the hang of it...

So this means that you are also confirming that the Radial Menu works on a PC, correct?
