Automatic optimise brush after creating?
Automatic optimise brush after creating?
I use the shortcut "Brush: Cut Freehand" all the time, but always have to click the 'optimize' button manually.
Is there a way to create a shortcut that acts the same, but automatically optimises the brush when I'm done cutting it? (without an extra keystroke)
Because I never really need a un-optimised brush.

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
When you have selected the the Cutbrush Tool, before you use it there's a panel with settings for the cutbrush (Tool : Cut Brush). You need to tick the box 'Optimize'.
And then it's set by default.
I agree that this option could be removed. What is the reason it's still there?

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
Some of my George scripts is not working properly if I have "Optimized" Checked. So I Seldom optimizes my Cutout. Maybe I can modify my scripts, so I am not saying that I disagree, but Im just saying that some users are using the feature that the cutbrush is NOT optimized. It has something todo with stamp in place the reason why I use it. And scaling the original cut area into a new area. And then my script needs to know the boundaries of the original cut which is lost during a optimize.Sewie wrote: I agree that this option could be removed. What is the reason it's still there?

If you use AnimBrushes, the last thing you want is Optimization!

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
Why is that? TVP doesn't optimize every frame independently, does it?

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
"Optimize" just withdraws the useless empty space when you cut a custom brush, nothing more
Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
Yes, but why is not preferable when using animbrushes?

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
I don't know why SLowtiger said this :p
Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
Optimize not only removes white space, it also re-locates the remaining image so the pivot point is in the center of it. Most often this is the desired behaviour for single frame brushes, but I also have situations where I need the pivot to be off-center.
I just tested and found that Optimize doesn't change location of images in AnimBrushes in v10, however, IIRC it did in former versions of TVP.

Re: Automatic optimise brush after creating?
I've never noticed that behaviour. And if you want to change the the pivot point you can always use pivot tool in the CutBrush Tools Panel.
