Hello Hughie,

You can open a Photoshop files in Tvp by just dragging it onto the interface. Tvp then opens a new project with just your Photoshop file in it. Then you can do a copy-paste of the frame into the timeline of your stop motion project.

Hope that's clear.

"I made a simple one image title screen in photoshop and the same with a credit screen , and can not for life of me figure out how to put the image into the timeline at the beginning and the end."

This is not hard .

Make your Title screen and your End Credit screen in the same size as your TVPaint project (so let's assume your TVPaint project is 640 x 480 or 1280 x 720 or whatever it is -- then you should make the Title screen and End Credit screen the same size in Photoshop ) . Save the images from Photoshop as .PNG or .JPG files .

Now open your TVPaint project --- simply drag and drop the Title screen image on to the open TVPaint project window --- this activates the Import window . Check that you are bringing in the image as a Layer. (OR if you like taking the long way around you can choose to load it from the File Menu --- Open --- and navigate to where the image is stored on your computer, select it , and click on "Load" to load the image. But simple drag & drop of the image is fast and easy. )

After the Title screen has imported to a new layer on the TVPaint timeline you will position it at the start of your animation , dragging out the title card for however many frames you want to expose it at the start of your movie. Shift all the other layers ahead on the timeline so that the animation starts after the Title.

For the End Credit screen repeat the same procedure , but with the End Credit screen shift it to the end after all the animation is finished and then drag it out for however many frames you want the End Credit screen to appear .

By the way, you do not have to go outside of TVPaint to use Photoshop to generate the Title screen or End credit screen. You can use the TEXT Brush tool in the TVpaint tool panel , or the SIMPLE TEXT FX or MULTI-LINE TEXT FX from the FX Stack ( the path is FX Stack -- Add FX -- Rendering -- Simple Text -- or --- Multi-Line Text . (*NOTE: Multi-line Text and Simple Text in the FX Stack are only in TVPaint PRO , not TVPaint Standard, but you can still use the Text Brush tool to do Titles with TVPaint Standard) . Titles may be created in various fonts, colors and with animation directly in TVPaint using the Text tools and the KeyFramer tool (for animation of the titles) . This is covered in the User Manual.

"its really pissing me off this software doesnt come with instructions at all"

Oh, really ?! Can I just say your snippy attitude ("it's really pissing me off") isn't making a great impression for your first post here . Hughie1987 , did you happen to notice the 463 page User Manual ? Ever thought of maybe looking at it ? Maybe there are some instructions on how to use the software in the manual , what do you think ?

( the user manual is on the install disc, it's also available to download from the website.)

Here's a good rule to live by: don't wait until the day before the project is due (and your instructor is likely not available for you to ask questions because it's the weekend) to realize you haven't bothered to spend the necessary time to research how to do some essential function , such as add a Title card image to finish off your project .

Hey hughie1987,

at which School are you on? It seems to be a very funny one.

If you want read - just read!
If you want to make films - just make them!
If you want to use TVPaint - just use it!

I hope you don't pay too much money for it ;-).
