Interface colors explained?
Interface colors explained?
I am trying to change some interface colors, but frankly I cannot understand anything in this palette - the names do not represent anything I can really connect to an element on the interface. Didn't find an explanation in the help file either. Can somebody please translate it?
Thanks

Re: Interface colors explained?
Yes, please, I would also like a visual breakdown of what the interface sections are. When I go to change the interface colors I'm mostly guessing...

The current names are very hard to understand.

Re: Interface colors explained?
When I worked out my choice of colors and shades I used a workaround to negotiate the unchartered TVP color scheme; I first made a temporary color scheme using garish, contrasting colors to all the weird labels and then defined them by replacing the loud colors with my own better choices, one at a time (or three or four or whatever they might come to at a time) by using the "Apply" and "Reset" buttons at the bottom of the "Color" tab. Having started with impossibly garish colors helped instantly spot the ones I was replacing these with. Try it; it's fun.

One hour easily, but the rise of productivity resulting from the exertion will richly make up for any time lost.

Re: Interface colors explained?
Sounds like 1 simple visual breakdown would save a lot of users 1 hour of tedious work.

Re: Interface colors explained?
Maybe you could volunteer. All it needs is to go one item at a time, giving it a bright red color and see which parts light up, make a screen print of the situation, and go on to the next one. Here and there you'll get some surprises, such as when you open hidden panels, such as key commands or the FX stack. Something for one of your interns to do on a rainy day.

yep, we are aware there is still so work to do on this.
but we can't improve everything at the same time.

Our interns have plenty of work for rainy days (today alas!)
I'll voluntary share my interface settings though, for anyone who likes their colors matched to the OS X interface.

Re: Interface colors explained?
Lukas, you should better export your color scheme, if you want to share your interface. =)
Re: Interface colors explained?
The forum didn't let me attach a *.ini file, so I pasted to code instead You can paste it in a text editor and save a .ini to import it.
Here it is in a zip
