Trouble when previewing a project with multiple clips

Post by Lukas »

I've been storyboarding with using clips for a few days now. And there's some problems when I press play.

1. Cameramoves are not previewed. I can see them when hovering my mouse over a clip, but not when I watch all of the clips by previewing the entire project. Do I really have to make a render?

2. Layers of some clips sometimes are shown in clips where they don't belong. Making preview useless, because I can't see anything.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Hello Lukas

to answer to your first question, you have to activate the Icon "Play with Camera View" next to "Change Playback Frame Rate" in the Project

for the second one, can you send us some exemples please ?

thanks in advance

Hello CLO :)

Thanks! That's much better!
Is there a way to play with camera view without having the canvas zoom to fit the project window? (I have some floating panels that are always in the way if it resizes to fit.

What emailaddress can I send a project to for the second issue?

I'll send a project when I can Isolate the problem. After I restart TVPaint the problem is gone... So I can't 'save' a bugged project. Maybe it has something to do with the preview-cache, I'm not so technical so I wouldn't know.
But if I have a project where the problem returns I'll email it.

See attached images :)

When previewing (with camera view) I can't see the entire canvas, because it stretches my project to fit the project window and my panels are in the way.

Oh, okay, I got it !

Unfortunately, you cannot play the animation in a resized canvas.

Anyway, you can use F11 to play your video without losing your configuration. :)

Ok thanks!

It would be nice if playing with a resized canvas + camera view would be possible in the future. :)

I agree with you on this point, but I think it's not possible

Developer will be better than me to answer this point.

Ok.

Another question. How does the "Seperate a Scene into two Scenes" button work?

Is a scene the same as a clip?

I've tried it in several ways, but nothing happens at all.

Nope, a clip is an element from the scene.
This image should be clearer :

Imagine you have a storyboard with 4 clips in your scene :

「1---2--------------3------4----」

Let's imagine that after Clip #2, you would like to cut the scene and have separated scene with 2 clips (Clip #3 and #4).
Place your cursor on Clip #2.
Use the button to Seperate a scene into 2 scenes.

「1---2--------------」「3------4----」

Enjoy :)
