I think the idea of composing films entirely from loops is much older, it goes back at least to Satiemania (1978) or Tango (1981), and many of the classic cartoons from the 20's and 30"s use loops excessively. George Schwizgebel did it not only in his 78 Tours.

Of course the opening scene seems familiar, but so does the gag with 1 mouth for 2 characters: didn't Aardman do a whole series of shorts about this?

Anyway, I like both, sometimes I like to see uncanny, "cold", hermetic animation.

I saw this for the first time today (even though it's 3 years old) and liked it a lot for it's simplicity and loops. Not sure if the animator used TVPaint but it looks like it.

I confirm that this animation was done in TVPaint by Monica Gallab.
It won few awards and lot of official selection.
