I am curious about the new flipping behavior with H and J -- I reset my key mappings, but do not see this functionality mentioned in the keyboard shortcut menu. Nothing happens when I press H or J... :|

Watch your layer while you are testing these. It's to emulate how animators used to flip their papers as they drew when while holding a pencil in one hand and the corner of a paper in the other. This way they could flip and draw on two drawings at the same time. Sometimes you want to flip between the current and the bottom one and next time between the current and the top one; flip back and flip forward.
EDIT: I just played with this a bit more and forgot that H and J actually carries the idea further. Keep pressing on the keys and it'll scrub backwards and forwards. The length of the scrub is set in the Preview Settings Panel/Flip Book.

Oh no, I am not confused about the purpose of flipping -- up til now I have depended on some 3rd-party scripting to simulate the backward/forward rolling in TVPaint. That's why I'm so excited for it to finally be built in!

The problem is that the feature does not seem to be working for me...? When I press H and J, or hold them down, the playhead doesn't move and the frame contents don't change in the canvas. Also, when I go to the keyboard shortcut interface, H and J are both shown as unmapped. Is there a name for the new flipping command so I can manually bind it to H/J (or to R and T, which is what I have been using with my scripts)?

Hmmm. Thank you, Paul -- this makes me think something is definitely wrong on mine, because it's missing from my command list:

I assume you have today's update correct? I don't because it's causing me problems so maybe it is indeed missing. This is for someone from the establishment to reply to. Sorry.

That means nothing. That's the key of development. Everything goes well and PAF, it bugs. You fix it and PAF, it bugs somewhere else.

Anyway, the Cintiq is, at the moment, the only different point between you / Paul and our computers at work.
You, Paul, Léo and Mike have Windows 7 - 64 bit Pro, using the same TVPaint version. But only you and Paul are using a Cintiq.
And, as usual, we don't have any Cintiq in the office to do our own tests...

Léo and Mike cannot reproduce the bug and, indeed, the bug exists.

It doesn't mean the Cintiq is not working properly, but it probably means the signal or its drivers are strangely interpreted by TVPaint Animation. And so, it crashes.

That's why it is really important : can you try TVPaint Animation with a different graphic tablet (Intuos, Bamboo...) ?

I'll try on Fabrice's tablet laptop too.

You are right, these shortcuts are not working, even if we use the default keymap. And worse, the feature doesn't even exist in the list... :x
Anyway, the feature exists in the Beta version. A bad "copy paste" in the TVPaint's code, I assume... :|

I'm sincerely sorry. The announce of the 10.5 version was supposed to be a good news... not such a deception for you as for us :(

I'm guessing this means Paul is not using a Cintiq.

I'll have to find another tablet and rearrange my setup for this. Hopefully I will come around to it later today.

Okay, I've just tested it with a Intuos4-M and the crashes still occur.

Have you been able to reproduce it? It doesn't occur immediately or every time, you have to work for a while and keep using the brushes, keyboard shortcuts and especially the Cutbrush Freehand Tool with the RIGHT mouse button, cutting stuff out of the frame, because that is where the crash happens every time.

(Edit: Sorry, I keep fumbling left and right mouse buttons in my posts. It is the RIGHT mouse button every time. I corrected that in the post above.)

That's weird, indeed. We continue to search.

Edit : bug confirmed and reproducible on Mac.

I have the crash when I'm using the history brush, after cutting and applying many brushes. Can you confirm this ?

Good! Half way there. Now for Windows.

With me it crashes when I'm using custom brushes every time. I haven't even touched the Historybrush, yet.

It is too, but always because of the history brush.

Ok. you probably use A LOT the custom brush and maybe, there is a moment where the history brush cannot manage the information and so > it crashes.

I'm upgrading the user guide and I use custom brushes a lot too and now, I realize that I also had some crashes the previous days.
