I downloaded and imported into your project your track and it might sound normal to me, you tell me. The first guitar strums are fast and sound like spedup music, but as soon as the singer and chorus join, it might be at real speed but that is hard for me to tell. It's a male voice a bit on the falsetto side... does this tell you it's playing too fast?

OK, I listened to the music with my VLC player and this one plays really fast -- that I can tell.

Markus, I just did what you did so I ended up with two tracks and both are identical. It does sound a bit sped up doesn't it?
EDIT: But if the source track is sped up, what else would TVP play? Wouldn't this indicate that the problem lies with the source?

It suddenly occurred to me that I can test the track on Vegas and now I know what it should sound like, so Vegas does play it at correct speed. Strange, so maybe the source is OK. But then why does a free standing audio player run it sped up and faster than TVP?

Thank you for your thoughts, all. Again, here is the original mp3 file, so anyone who is interested may compare it with the tvp playback:

I am VERY sorry -- Vegas plays the track the same as TVP, only at much better quality so my conclusion is that they both play it at proper speed. All the players, such as VLC, WMP etc play it sped up.

Now that you uploaded the last track and I played it on a different computer I can tell that they all sound good. What confused me were the opening riffs that sound mildly sped up, so my conclusion is that your track plays perfectly well in TVP 10 64. (PC)

Thank you for your message. It should be empty except for the sound track--do you hear the sound track?
This played back fine for me, using Linux and ALSA/PulseAudio for playback, at 44.1K. Didn't need to change any settings, just pressed SPACE and it played.

EDIT: I take that back... if I change to 48K, it plays back slowly, forgot you had specified it is a 48K file. It plays back correctly at 44.1K. Audio apps like Audacity and Audacious sound correct when played back, they both indicate 48K. Something does appear wrong in TVPaint.

ok, it needs to be checked on Linux.

But we did all the tests on Mac (since Kate is working on Mac), and everything is working fine.

we used those settings on Mac and TVPaint (click to enlarge) :

On Mac, you also have to set the OS properly, as it was shown in the very first link that Paul added in this topic.

Yes, I have been putting the settings as recommended in the OS, as explained above, and I have still been having sound playback inconsistency issues.

Thank you all for your efforts.

I would just like to say that Slow Tiger (again) came to the rescue here in NYC! We were having trouble with the school lab computers, some of them were playing audio too slow in TVP, and I could not for the life of me figure out what was happening (I work on a PC, but all these computers are Macs). Once I realized that the same few computers were acting up, we were able to get to the bottom of it using this post...adjusting the Audio MIDI settings saved the day! Thank you!
