Mac OS X 10.9 Mavericks and TVPaint Animation

Post by Thierry »

Hello everybody !

We are currently testing and studying the compatiblity of TVPaint on the newest version of Apple OS : 10.9 Mavericks.
For the moment, TVPaint doesn't work at all, so don't install OS X 10.9 Mavericks until TVPaint works on it (or install it on a different partition).

I will keep this thread updated.

I'll weigh in with a different experience. Running TVP Pro 10.0.18-64 daily on Mavericks since the day the developer preview was released, on two different computers, a Macbook Air and an iMac, with no real problems.
I wonder what's different about these two scenarios...

David , this is reassuring to read that you have run TVP Pro 10.0.18-64 on Marvericks OS with no problem .

Hmm, that is indeed strange.

I installed Mavericks on a old (we're talking about Apple here ^^) mid-2009 iMac, and TVPaint doesn't even start on it.
I'll have to take a closer look at this next week.

It seems that after the latest Mavericks update, the crashes no longer seems to happen, and I have no issues with my 2009 iMac.

As always, if you have some issues, don't hesitate to let us know :)

Is TVPaint already tested with the latest OS X Mavericks?

TVPaint should work without issues with OS X Mavericks. It was working well with the different Developer Previews (except the first one).

I think I solved the problem:
You can switch of " displays have seperate dimensions" in the mission control system preferences.

If you use TVPaint on several screens, don't forget to uncheck this option :

The separate spaces is one of the new features of osx mavericks and I think it's handy.
But at the moment I can't use it because some programs I use don't support the "full screen function" in os x. One of the (few) programs is tvpaint. Other programs I use are older versions of the adobe software. Most of the other programs I use do support the full screen option.
So in my opinion it should be time for tvpaint too to support the full screen option of os x!
