Change from 30 fps to 24 fps

Post by Mabouh »

Hi everyone,

I am working on Mac, using the beta version of TVPaint 10.5.2 - 32 bit.

We made an animation at 30 fps whereas the whole production is 24 fps. We noted the mistake after making the animation.
So I changed the project fps with Modify Project >... to 24 fps.
The new timing is ok in TVPaint.

The problem is, when I export a MOV file H264 at 24 fps, Quicktime still tells me that my file is 30 fps. Yet the timing of the movie is ok, like in TVPaint.
We may have some problems if we import that file in our editing software.
Every other movie exported from a 24 fps TVPaint file, with the animation made at 24 fps from the beginning, is 24 fps for Quicktime with the same parameters (H264)?

Does anyones see a solution ?

Thanks a lot !

Check export again. The frame rate in TVP's export panel is not the one written into the movie file. Open QT's codec panel and set the correct frame rate there as well!
TVP 10.0.18 and 11.0 MacPro Quadcore 3GHz 16GB OS 10.6.8 Quicktime 7.6.6
TVP 11.0 and 11.7 MacPro 12core 3GHz 32GB OS 10.11 Quicktime 10.7.3
TVP 11.7 Mac Mini M2pro 32GB OS 13.5

After some tests I found out the problem...
On the principal panel to export the movie (not in the Quicktime paramaters) the fps was still from 24 to 30...

Thanks a lot for you help !
