keyboard shortcuts and rooms
Hi everyone,
New to TVPaint and I'm enjoying learning the software so far! Wondering if it is normal to have to save keymaps for each room... for example, I create some custom key shortcuts in Room 1, but in order to get those to work in Rooms 2-3-4, I have to save the keymap in Room 1, then switch to each room and load the keymap. Seems like key shortcuts should apply to all rooms, it is quite cumbersome to have to go through that process every time I change a keymap. I have read the forum and am aware of the cmd-0, cmd-1, etc. not working. What I am describing applies to all keys.
I'm on:
TVP 10.5.3 64-bit
OSX 10.8.5
Thank you for your help,
Andy

Re: keyboard shortcuts and rooms
I think the whole idea is to make each room as individualistic as possible. If each one is used for a different purpose then it is good to have all the key commands fresh and ready to reprogram with new commands. Maybe there should be an option in preferences to allow the same key mapping in all the rooms.
On the other hand, how often does one build a new room? To bring in the same key map isn't such a big deal, is it?

Re: keyboard shortcuts and rooms
Thanks for the reply Paul. I suppose this would be an issue more for a new user like myself, since I am frequently changing hotkeys to suit my workflow, as I learn the program. The option to have a 'master' keymap for all rooms would certainly be helpful.
Re: keyboard shortcuts and rooms
There is a way to transfer your settings to another room rather quickly; by holding CTRL + ALT (on windows) while you press the button of the room. This transfers all your setting, though. Thats keyboard shortcuts AND color preferences of the interface.

It was pointed out on this forum somewhere. Don't remember by who, though...
Edit: Found the culprit, it's Mads.

It's also in the manual. Page 5-24. I needed that last week and went through the lesson Working with rooms. No I'm not usually aware what's in the manual
