Lags when saving in TVP 10

Post by Soom »

I am on TVP 10.5.3 64bit now, PC Windows 7, and I thought this would go away, but no - each time I save a file, I have a lag of about 5-10 seconds, after the saving progress dialog disappears. At this time, when I touch the software, it says "not responding", and only after the lag is gone, I can continue working...

Ok... Well, that's weird. Be careful, that could be the announce of your hard drive's near death =/

Actually - yes. Oh, now I get it! Right - the lags are only when saving to network! How did I miss that?! Though it would be nice to have the status bar stay all that time visible, so I wouldn't need to guess, when does TVP unfreeze, but I have no idea if it's technically possible...

I have just found out that in v10.5 there is a * symbol next to a filename, indicating that it's not saved. When save operation completes, it disappears, which gives me an indication on when the file has finished being written to the harddisk and I can continue working. Thanks for that!

Better that than a corrupted hard drive

I don't think that could be possible =/
