Tweening?

Post by AnimationGuy »

So this may sound like a noob question but is it possible to tween in TvPaint? I mean how am I supposed to do things like slow motion or like effects without tweens?

You are supposed to create slow motion by drawing more and more inbetweens :| , but you can cheat if you have no shame by drawing fewer frames and then drag the layer out by its white handle at either ends of the layer, at which point you will get a popup. Select "Stretch" at the top, and check the Interpolate box below that.

The same way you'd do it if drawing with pencil on paper cels, by timing things out and drawing all of the frames you need :-P

You can do some tweening for effects animation and motion graphics using the keyframer, but if you want to do inbetweening for character animation, you will have do it old school

As Paul suggested, there is a sweet taste to shameless actions - on really slow movements, just do less inbetweens - on 3s, or even on 4s - in most cases it will look just as good. There is no other way. If you want tweening, try vector based ToonBoom or Flash
