Hi, welcome here !
Just uncheck "Correct aspect" in the export footage panel, it should fix the problem.

Hi Guy,
If you want to export your 16:9 (=1,77:1) to the widescreen format (2,35 : 1) your picture have to be cutted at top and bottom. That means, that you don't get black bars. You will lose parts of your picture. Or, if you don't want to loose them and fit it to the height, you'll get black bars at the left and at the right side of the format.
Or do you want to stretch your picture? Than use the export settings with correct inputs and don't forget to open (click on it) the lock on the left side. Than you are free to type in any pixel values for the width and height. Also uncheck the "correct aspect" value, otherwise your picture will not be stretched.

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
Hey Guys, Thanks for the reply!
i tried unchecking the correct aspect box but its still the same as before,
i included a screen shot of what it looks like full screen- at first i thought those bars were the widescreen ones but it showed up for all my videos......
Oh and another question
When i export my video, the color of the content that i import from photoshop is always different to that of the exported product, is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
Didn't you wrote that you would like to have those bars? There they are .
When you write "fullscreen", do you mean, that the bars are visible when watching your movie on your monitor in fullscreen-mode of some mediaplayers?
At the moment I don't know what is exactly the problem is. So it's very difficult to help. Please try to describe it very ecactly. Thanks.
For your other question you should open a new topic - it is easier for other user to find your question. Than you should post two screenshots, one of the .psd and the other one of the exported one from tvpaint. You should also describe exactly, what kind of photoshop-document you have and also exactly the tvpaint project settings and the export-settings. There are too many possibilities for mistakes when your collors went wrong.

A question out of curiosity:
What prevents you from painting this background directly in TVPaint?

Hi!
Ok, This is what i mean:
Most videos already have those black lines on the top and bottom, but the type of widescreen bars that i'm trying to get is like
the ones found in sleeping beauty- i took a screen shot of it in full screen..(like when compared to the screen shot of the project i'm doing the bars in the sleeping beauty shot are much higher etc.)
Thanks in Advance

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
That's really easy to get. The Picture was very helpful.
1. make a widescreen project, for example 2048 x 1107 pixel
2. export it to a "full format", for example 2048 x 1556 pixel
Before exporting, open the lock to be able to put in another aspect ratio as the original project.

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
Hi Guys,
I Tried what was suggested and I followed:
1. make a widescreen project, for example 2048 x 1107 pixel
2. export it to a "full format", for example 2048 x 1556 pixel
But Once I exported it and watched it in full screen my computer added two bars on the left and right side
in the photo I attached shows what I am talking about- when the exported video itself is not viewed in full screen there are no vertical side bars

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
This could be the reason why:
1. Your TVPaint Project Aspect Ratio = 1,85 : 1
2. Your rendered Project Aspect Ratio = 1,33 : 1
3. Your monitors Aspect Ratio probably = 1,6 : 1

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
So Do i change the width of my actual TVP project? or Do i change the aspect ratio of the project?
(if its aspect ratio, how do i set it to two numbers for example (1,85:1) as everytime i start a new project TVp seems to only let me use one aspect ratio in the settings tab; im sorry for all these questions, very new to this

Re: How to make my videos actually Widescreen
Could you give us a hint about what you want to have in the end? An animation for BluRay?, Cinema?, TV? .... something special?
Aspect Ratio just describes the relationship between the width and height of a project. For example, when you have a project width of 2048 pixel and you're aiming for a aspect ratio of 1,85:1 (what is a often used cinema standard for widescreen movies), then your projects height should be 1107 pixel. The calculation is: 2048 / 1,85 = 1107.
When starting a new project in TVPaint, the aspect ratio should set to "square". The setting is for Pixel Aspect Ratios (PAR) and not for the aspect ratio of your project. The projects aspect ratio ist given by yourself when entering the values for width and height, or when choosing a preset.
