Hi,
While trying to start TVPaint 10.5.5 Pro (32 bit) on my Windows 7 PC I get the following error message:
"TVPaint 10 Pro (10.5.5 - 32 bits)
The program cannot be started because MSVCR80.dll is missing on the computer.
Reinstall the program to fix the problem."
However, this MSVCR80.dll is really present in C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc80crt_ ...
There are even five such folders containing this MSVCR80.dll.
I hoped to solve the problem by copying this file into the folder where the exe-file of TVPaint is located. But after doing so I get another message at the TVPA-start:
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error
Program: C:\Program files\TVPaint Developpement\TVPaint Animation ...
R 6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Then I uninstalled TVPA and reinstalled it completely new. But the problem is still existing.
Now I don't know what else I can do. Any help would be appreciated!
Dieter

Hi ZigOtto and Fabrice,
I thank you very much for your quick reponses, especially for ZigOtto's advice and the link.
It seems to be very helpful but I'm afraid to have a lot of work before me.
I will try it in the coming days, when I have some leisure time for it.
My Windows-7 should be up-to-date as the windows-updates always have been installed regularly.
Also an virus check didn't show any problems.

Re: Error messages when starting TVPA
This problem is related to windows directly, not to tvpaint.
Re: Error messages when starting TVPA
Indeed, the missing .dll is not from TVPaint but from Microsoft.
