Really basic question....
I just upgraded TV Paint and have a dongle from my old version...
Would like to work on TV Paint on vacation...loaded the trial version onto the computer at the place I'm staying, and was hopeing that by plugging in the dongle I could enable the restricted functions (like Save). Doesn't seem to work...the Save/Preferences functions are still disabled.
Any solutions? Am I not doing something right?
How many computers can a version of TV Paint run on? (I also have a laptop, and would like to run it on there, but haven't tried to install it yet).
Thanks!

Re: Using Trial version with the dongle...
TVP will run on any computer with the dongle but each computer must have a dongle driver -- have you downloaded that as well with your TVP? I presume your dongle is registered and matches your TVP's lock/unlock codes.

load the last build public (full) version af TVPA (menu Help/ check for Update ...) and save the tvpa-install.exe file, chrisheadrick wrote:Really basic question....

then install it on your travelling laptop,
... and don't forget to take the dongle with you .
theorically unlimited, but only one after the other (for a single-seat licence),chrisheadrick wrote:...

you'll have to swap the dongle from one to the other computer.

Re: Using Trial version with the dongle...
Sounds great!
....but where do I find the dongle driver to download?
Under 'Downloads' the only choices I find are:
-- Download the Trial version
-- Upgrade or update your license
-- Try the Android OpenBeta
-- User Guides
-- Brochures and press kit
-- Example files
Please pardon if this is a ridiculously easy to solve, and I'm just blind...

Did you upgrade from standard to pro or updated the version?I just upgraded TV Paint and have a dongle from my old version...
As far as I know, the trial version and the full version are different. So you cannot just plug in your dongle and enable the save function because the code is missing in the trial version.

You have to download the full version of TVP. When you download the full version, the download usually includes the dongle drivers.
MAC OS 12.6.2 - TVpaint 11.7.1 PRO 64bit, Wacom Intuos Pro

if you still have the tvpa install file, you can execute it,
and check the Sentinel driver option if you're in custom mode.

Note of caution: once you have installed the driver, don't keep the driver box ticked the next time you upgrade. It could get confused by a second reload.

Re: Using Trial version with the dongle...
This is really frustrating....
Okay, so I installed TV Paint using the old Lock, Unlock codes from when I purchased the upgrade....
...and the machine won't recognize the dongle. It's the same dongle I use at home.
So, I suppose I didn't check the Sentinel Drivers check box, as in above? When does that screen pop up? I didn't see that screen when I loaded the program onto my computer....how do I find it?

Wizard setup ... [Next] / licence Agreement ... [Next] /Choose Install location ... [Next] / Choose Components (here you are),chrisheadrick wrote:... When does that screen pop up? I didn't see that screen when I loaded the program onto my computer....how do I find it?
just before the last clic on [Install], you can't miss it.
