Problems importing movies into TVPaint
Problems importing movies into TVPaint
Hello,
Suddenly I can't import avi or mov into TVPaint (10.5.3-64 bits). Nothing happens when I chose the file.
Anyone got a solution what could be wrong?

Hello,
try it with the 32bit version of TVPaint. Mostly it is an issue with Quicktime which is not working with the 64bit version.

Re: Problems importing movies into TVPaint
Hello Olve,
The 64 bits version of TVPaint Animation cannot work with mov files, as the Quicktime libraries don't exist in 64 bits. As Animark said, you should use the 32 bits version if you really have to use mov files, or use another format.
The avi import should be working however.
I read that you have the 10.5.3 version of TVPaint Animation, you should update to the latest one, which is the 10.5.5, and see if you still can't import avi files.

- Can you play the movies?
- Can you import the movies into your video editor?
- Try renaming the files with 7bit-ASCII only (no special characters, no spaces)

If not, don't read what follows...
You *must* use the 32bit version to import this kind of files...
You can install both the 32 and 64 bits version at the same time, just rename one before installing the other one.

Re: Problems importing movies into TVPaint
This has made me curious about something : I'm on a Mac (Mac OS 10.9) and I can import and play both .mov and .avi files in the 64 bit version of TVPaint. Is this because I have both 32bit and 64bit version of TVPaint installed ? Are you saying if I only had 64 bit version installed then it would not be able to import .mov files ?ematecki wrote:Are you on a Mac ?Olve wrote:Thanks for the reply.

But ffmpeg (which we use for "replacing" QT in the 64 bits version) can read *some* mov files and *some* AVI files. Those with the most common non-proprietary codecs.
