Can You Move the Background with No Cut with Pan Tool

Post by TheQuestionMark »

Hi I was wondering how do you move the Background or Key Scenes by Scrolling with Out Getting Cut out with the Panning Tool. Is there a way for the to move with the Panning Tool without having the Image Getting Cut Off. How do you prevent from the Image getting Cut Out . You can use photoshop and scrolled the background animated without having to get cut off. Is there a same way with TVPaint? Is there to make the image scroll longer off project screen?

Look up "keyframer" in the manual.

What slowtiger said above : User Manual, search for "KeyFramer".

Also there are topics this forum. This may be of help:

and here:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5724#p50727" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Have your BG artwork in one TVP Project (let's call it Project A) , then open a new TVP Project (Project B) which you will use to apply the KeyFramer FX . In Project B go to KeyFramer > Render Tab > select Source as Project A (the BG). Now use the KeyFramer tool X, Y, Z coordinates to set the position of the BG (say , panning from left to right ) set the start position at frame 1 and click "C" (create) button to create a new keyframe . Now go to the last frame and set the ending position of the pan using Keyframer X, Y, Z coordinates , then click "C" to create the keyframe . Hit the Play button to see a preview of the camera pan move. If it looks good , then Select ALL frames on the timeline and hit Apply FX .

This makes a rendered version of the camera move in your Project B , but the original BG art in Project A is unchanged.

I guess his problem isn't about the movement, it's about the fact, that TVPaint cuts off everything, which leaves the work-area.
If you own the Pro Version you can create a project which is as big as your background and use the camera-tool to pan over it.

You can do the same using the keyframer. But in any case, the only way to preserve a background larger than the current project's format is to combine two projects; one large one with the background, and the other, smaller, that has the characters or whatever. Then open both projects at the same time and through the keyframer look at the background and move it around without destroying it -- just as the link shows. When you find the position you like, apply the keyframer which will merge the background image with the current project but doing so while preserving the background drawing for future use.
