Timeline range in - out

Post by hellofilms »

I am animating a longer sync part in Tvpaint.
The sound is about 480 frames.
I choose different in and out frames to no have to play the whole sound every time. Works fine.

But It would be great if you also could have the timeline to schrink to the choosen range. Now I have to slide the to the part I am working with after I played.
I does not automaticly stop in the choosen range area.

Hope this question was clear enough.

If you use the 'alt' key + right mouse button and click+drag in the timeline area you can zoom in/out of the frames in the timeline. Same for the leftmouse button to pan the timeline area.

I'm not exactly sure if that's what you meant, but there you go.

Not exactly that but I think I found out the problem.

if you set a range starting at lets say fram 125 and you press the button for getting to first frame. The play starts at frame 125 but the slider at the bottom goes to frame 1 so you have to slide forward to get to the right place.
If this was to be fixed i think my problem will be solved.

Have you tried using the Time Code at the bottom left to jump to a frame?
Or the even better "Go to Image" Shortcut ? (Shift+F default)

That way you don't have to slide to the right frame. You can just jump to it.

Not exactly what you wanted but it is an option.

Ít´s an option but since I keep moving along the sound to sync it up with talk I don´t really know the frame number.

Dragging the slider works but It would have been better to change that funtion.

So, your suggestion would be to have a further "Fit to Mark in/Mark out" option at the Zoom Ratio ?

Another option could be to use the Image Mark panel. If you set a mark you can quickly jump to a frame with the arrows.

Ok, had not seen that Zoom-options. I am quite new to TVpaint and there are really great options everywhere.

Yes a "Fit to Mark in/Mark out" would be great I think.

Thanks all for the help in this "problem".

The color mark is good too but in this case I think the first one is the best.
