Animatic; Splitting audio question

Post by LizardLaw974 »

Hello again and I'm sorry if this is a dumb question or in the incorrect place. I'm fairly new at TVPaint so this may be a very simple thing Dx

I'm using TVPaint 10.0 at my college and I'm currently making an animatic, but, when I started, I forgot you could make separate clips for scene cuts. So, I took what I had for Scene 2 and put it in another clip.
The only problem is, I had uploaded the soundtrack to the first scene and I figured that it must only play it during my first scene.
So I took everything and tried it in a different project, this time uploading it to the timeline view, but it still won't play the soundtrack with the scene cut.

Will I have to cut the song into portions or is there something I'm doing wrong?

I'm not sure I understand you, but my guess is that you need to go to Preferences>Sound and check "Play project sound in clip". Does this help?

shouldn't it be checked "On" by default ? (just a thought ...)

btw, why your school isn't working with the last version (10.5) ?

I would prefer that it not be on by default but that the choice better placed, which would be right at the source where the question comes up. That would be where the sound track is imported; both into the clip and the Project Tab side, where it would say:
Load a sound Track
Reload all Sound Tracks
Play project sound in clip

I don't know if "playing project sound in clip" was checked when I was using it the other day, but I opened TVPaint now and it wasn't checked. So I'll see if that fixes things

I'm sorry I wasn't clear and that my original post was kind of confusing, and for all of this ^^;
I had originally loaded the music by using the drop down tool bar "Master". I added a picture as a file because I'm awful at explaining D:

I started making the animatic but added a cut in that one "Scene"; I made it a separate later but then realized I could've just made another "Scene" from the Project view in the Timeline. I took the cut and the images after it, made a new "Scene" after the first one and put it in the second. The footage was fine, but when I would play it back, it would play what I had originally timed with the first Scene. Then, it wouldn't cut to the next scene, and the music kept on going.
