Can't export an AVI video with alpha channel

I've seen the question posed here before, but have not figured out how to solve it still.
I'm trying to export an AVI of the animation I made in TVP so that I can composite it with some things in After Effects. It's set to RGBA and it shows up as if it will work when I export it, however when I actually play it in After effects or anything, the background is completely black.
It seems like it's impossible to fix this problem? I've searched the forum and I've seen that it has something to do with the codec, but where in TVP do you change codecs? I don't understand....

Thanks, I hope this can be solved.. I've worked so hard on it and if I can't export it properly.... This is really stressfull and it seems like an easy fix..

Have you unchecked the "background" option ? Can you post a screenshot of your export options ?

If so, have you checked the good options in AE to import your video properly ?
