On TVPaint 10.5 : yes, no problem (except if you are using features from 11 : they will disappear on TVPaint 10.5).

On older versions, files won't be compatible (you must uncheck tvpp compression in your preferences).

And when upgrading from TVP 10.5, will it keep my old preferences? Like keyboard shortcuts and custombuttons, -brushes and -panels? I have for instance an Animator Panel that I have added custombuttons to. Will they migrate or should I save them and then re-import them in TVP11?

It looks like you've focused on the software's strength (hand drawn 2D animation) and added to it. (Perspective tool, the new warp tool, which will open up many new possibilities animation-wise, I believe). And I'm very glad you've left the silly embellishments - half-assed storyboard camera's and ftp functionalities, for example - for what they are.

The new CTG-layers are working suprisingly good too.

You can select some points through one action by holding the [Shift] key and moving your stylus/mouse.

Is there a quick way to move the line animation together with the color layer without using the FX stack?

here is a hint : the same instance within a CTG layer can be used on several source images.

Not really what I meant, see attached screencapture. Hopefully it illustrates the problem.

First I move the line animation. Then I hit return to re-apply the move on the CTG layer, but I get a black line instead. When I reselect the move tool to manually move the CTG layer, it's unavailable.

(Ideally, I'd put both layers in a folder and move the folder.)

About plugins: I highly recommend that you first save each plugin separately as a tvpx before upgrading. This means if you have a collection of plugins under one custom panel, you should still make a backup save for each plugin. Once you upgrade and import these, DO THE SAME THING OVER AGAIN. Save each plugin as an individual tvpx from TVP 11. Then you will have no trouble. If you don't do this, it might happen that you will one day soon find that certain plugins just quit working.

The same goes for custom ini. and other files such as key configs. Before upgrading, make double sure each one has been saved. Once you import them into 11, they will all function as expected.

Correct. Custom brushes have no problems. I just wanted to make sure that anyone reading this knows to treat plugins gingerly since sometimes these get referred to as buttons too.
EDIT: Plugins must be exported again from v11 to become associated with 11 -- otherwise they can stop working. It is not just a double safe measure.

I don't like the butterfly icon very much, but the new interface looks great.

Me neither, frankly, it makes the software look like a make-up box. The TVP logo would look more professional, I think.

I agree the butterfly is a bit dommage but that doesn't really change the program.

my winner features are:
- CTG layer (extreme timesaver)
- the new GUI (Professional look and feel)

I understand what you're suggesting and it's a nice feature, but it has little to do with the issue I posted and doesn't solve the problem I described with the screencapture at all.
