Drying Bug ?

Post by Jerome Boulbes »

Hello everyone

I am having hard time trying to understand the drying mode. Whatever I draw I get the same result with or without it. (tried with the oil, wet and custom brushes)
(TVPaint 10.5, )

Does it require some option to be activated ? does it works only with some specific mode ? And what is it supposed to do exactly ? The manual is a bit light on the subject I think.

Use some brush with 40% opacity and compare drying to non-drying. Do several strokes.

It's not for the opacity settings, but for the power settings.
I set the power of the brush to constant 70% and drew the left crossed circle with drying, the right is without drying.

Thanks everyone, but it still doesn't work for me.

Is this a "pro feature" ? Is there an option in the preferences that I have deactivated by mistake ? Or hardware connected ?

I do not believe this is a bug, because I think I remember it did work at some point as per the manual, when I first tested the software.

TVPaint team, any input ?

I have tried a lot more options/configurations than in the image below...

Got it !

It's connected to Line smoothing.

When Line smoothing is ON, Real Time should be ON too.
With RT OFF, it doesn't work.
