TVPaint 10 not importing .MOVs
TVPaint 10 not importing .MOVs
Hello all! I am new to TVPaint and loving it, but a small problem came up I'm not sure how to solve.
I am running Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and have TVPaint 10 Standard Edition. When I try to import an .mov file, nothing happens; the import screen never appears, nothing. This isn't the case with other video file types, .avi and .wmv files work. I would like to know if there's a codec setting I need to change, or something along those lines. Thank you in advance for all of your help.

You have to work in 32bits to be able to work with QT. If you haven't done so already, you can download the 32 bit version and have both that and 64 opened at the same time if you wish.

Is that 32-bit Windows, or TVPaint? I am already running TVPaint in 32-bits.

You started by saying you are running TVP 64bit. Which version, precisely, of TVPaint are you running?I am running Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and have TVPaint 10 Standard Edition
EDIT: OOPS, you said Windows 64... sorry, but it would be helpful if you told us precisely which version of TVP you are using.

Then you need to upgrade; it's free. You have a very old version, where did you get that?

I got it last summer with Student Pricing. I will do that, thank you! And many thanks for all of the help and for being patient with me.Paul Fierlinger wrote:Then you need to upgrade; it's free. You have a very old version, where did you get that?

Re: TVPaint 10 not importing .MOVs
You are welcome, like many others around here, glad to help and just ask away. There are issues with QT everywhere because Apple stopped developing it for 64 bits and only sporadically for anything PC. Is there a reason why you can't stick to AVI?

Yeah, I am being asked to rotoscope over some video, and I don't know what format the client is going to send me the files in. I just want to cover my bases so that I am ready for whatever they throw at me.

That makes sense... I think it should work once you upgrade.

If it is for rotoscoping, i.e. that footage won't make it in the final output, you can always use VLC to convert anything to anything...
