Changing dpi resolution

I need to change my canvas resolution to about 300-600 dpi so i can have an image that is not pixelated when im working.Please provide information on this topic please .

TVP works resolution-less. If you need a certain resolution for printing in a certain size, you just do the math yourself and create a TVP project of the right pixel dimensions.

In addition to what slowtiger and Elodie mentioned in their responses, I'd suggest you use the Search function on the forum. This topic about "dpi" has been covered many times.

DPI only matters when you're printing things out. DPIs are used to indicate how dense the image resolution will be when you will print your illustration. The resolution is measured in Dots Per Inch, and the higher the DPI rating, the finer the detail the printer will attempt to print.
In animation, DPI resolution is usually irrelevant since you don't print animations. Worrying about DPI in an animation is like worrying about FPS (Frame per second) in an illustration.
Nevertheless, you can convert illustrations made in TVPaint Animation with most desktop publishing programs. You can also simply increase your project's definition to match the required DPI.

For example:
A 8x10" project printed @ 72 DPI = 576x792 pixels
A 8x10" project printed @ 300 DPI = 2400x3300 pixels

AbsorbentGhost - hey, buddy, what Elodie is too polite to say up front (but I don't have to be nice or polite ) is this: did you actually purchase TVPaint or are you using an illegal cracked version downloaded from a pirate site ? Version 10.0.16 has not been available to purchase for two years , so there is no way you could have purchased it recently , yet all of your questions are "newbie" questions of someone who hasn't been using TVPaint for very long . And there is a known cracked version of 10.0.16 floating around on the pirate sites.

Here's the test: can you update your TVPaint to the most recent version of TVPaint 10 , which is 10.5.7 ? If you have a legitimate license of TVPaint then it is easy to update . Just go to "Check for Updates" under the Help menu. If you can not update it then your software was illegally downloaded from a pirate site and no one here on the forum has any reason to waste our time answering your questions , since we all paid money for our legitimate licenses of TVPaint and would like to see the TVPaint Development company continue to thrive and grow into the future.

If you can update to 10.5.7 then that shows you do have a legitimate license of TVPaint and I'll ask your forgiveness for misjudging you . But we've had too many cases of people showing up here on the forum asking for help and then it turns out they're using a cracked version , so most of us are wary when someone shows up here with a version of TVPaint (10.0.16) that hasn't been available to purchase for over two years.

As a student you probably qualify for an educational discount.
