Nice behind-the-scenes piece on "Song of The Sea" with many glimpses of TVPaint .

See the section around 3:05 - 6:11 with Animation Supervisor Fabian Erlinghauser demonstrating the process using TVPaint.

Hi.

Does anyone know when the French version is out on Blu-Ray? And is it the same version as the US 2-disc Blu-Ray with same special features? I checked on Amazon but I'm not sure if the translation is correct. (It says 1-disc and doesn't seem to offer a release date).

I believe the film isn't at cinemas here in the UK until July meaning an October/November Blu-Ray release, and I can't wait that long. The US version will cost me a hefty £22 (over 30 euros) and I'm not sure it will play on a UK machine - I didn't think Blu-Rays were region coded but at the Amazon checkout it gives a warning about incompatibility.

I'm not asking anyone to go searching for me, but with many people on here being French, I thought someone may already have the info I'm after in their noggin.

Thank you :D

Oh, I think the French release is May 19th...? The translation was a bit weird. :) I may order it from the US then (It'll still arrive around early May though).

Yes, it's May 19th in France (and it will get the French and the Original version).

Be careful about Region codes if you order from US while you live in UK (it won't be compatible).

"Song of the Sea" Japan edition (called 『海のうた』) will nationwide play on Summer 2016.
Spoiler : Off the record :
I am afraid of "with TV personality overdub + original Japanese message song" coming :(
I hope to attached "only subtitle".

When Japanese movie press says "Summer 2016" like this time, it means "Summer vacation movie for Kids" (during 20th July - 31th August).
You can find surely more infromation on this site after Feb, April or May (an new year season in Japan) and find with Japanese Character 「ソング・オブ・ザ・シー (Katakana - Japanese English)」「海のうた (Hiragana+Kanji)」.
2016年に公開予定の映画 / Here is a nationwide screen play plan in 2016, Japan
I suggest you to ask Mr. Moore, Cartoon Saloon : he always invited from distributor when his works played on screen Japan in 2010 (Osaka) and 2015 (Tokyo).

It will be done, but I regret to tell you about "The Red Turtle" screen play was put off after HIROSHIMA 2016, perhaps the last ten days of September.
