Render Auto Paint

Post by timson »

I'm want to use Auto Paint FX for automatic drawing.
But the line of the final render is different then the line I drew.
The applied auto paint was done with the same brush.
I tried several things:
recording with "Use pressure" off and turning it on when applying, or vice versa etc...
See attachement

So far I haven't found a solution.

I also tried the "drawing recorder", but the underlying layer/drawing (which I use as reference) is always rendered.

Hello timson,

I see on your signature that you have TVPaint 10.0, which is quite an old version. You should first update to TVPaint 10's latest version, 10.5.7 (it's a free update :) ) and see if you still have this issue.

Would upgrading to version 11 solve the problem?

I'm in production and I need a solution.

Maybe another software? Photoshop records drawings but can't export it... screen grabbing is not a solution because i need 4k, 5k resolutions...

Important is to have good graphic brushes like in photoshop

I just happened to be working with the Drawing Recorder in TVP-11.0.1 and it works like a charm. Just now I I went there again to emulate your drawing and it comes out looking just the way I drew it.
Since the auto recorded image ends up in a new clip, I could flip between my original drawing and the recorded one and there was absolutely no difference between the two-- it's actually pretty clever the way the gadget is designed.

Thanks a lot for the support!
I'm using the 10.5.7 version maybe thats the problem:
the new clip from the record in the Drawing Recorder has the reference image included - which I use in transparency

Is TVP-11 the solution?

In the 10.5.7 , you should be able to select in the drawing recorder if you want to record the display or the current layer only.
