Warp tool behaviour

Post by David_Fine »

I recall reading somewhere about locking parts of the image when you use the Warp tool, but I can't find it now so I don't know how to do it and for some reason, not a peep about this in the online manual. (WHY??) Can someone tell me how you lock down parts of the image so that when you pull another part, it does not distort the locked area?

Right-click on the point(s) you want to lock . You'll get a pop-up "lock this point" .

Brilliant. Thank you. Why is this such a big secret? That is, wouldn't this be a good thing to put in the manual?

Also, I want a custom button for the warp tool, but I can't figure out how to do that. I have one for Transform, but Warp is not listed in the options when I make a new button, so how do I do that?

Because it did not exist yet when the documentation part about the Warp tool was written.

I found also that using the shift key does the same thing as right click but is a little faster.

Thank you for pointing that out . I did not know that about the Shift key . That is much faster.

Hopefully the user manual is updated soon to include this information.

It seems to me that it would be a very simple matter to add this important info to the online manual. Especially for this important new tool. Locking the image is a key part of making this work. Without it, it's almost unusable.

EDIT: I see that there is a note about pinning in the manual now, but no info about how to pin!! It really needs to explain that or the note is just frustrating. http://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index. ... sform-warp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
