Drag & drop frames in timeline is a bit shaky

Post by Soom »

Ok, so after a year of Flash, I am back to TVPaint on a new project. Yehaa! We are still using TVP 10.5 here, so I don't know about 11.
When I drag and drop frames in the timeline, I'm experiencing 2 annoying issues:
1. when dragging up or down, the timeline moves so fast, that I always skip the right layer, and then have to aim the pen again and again, until I get control of the timeline slowly , and drop where needed. Is it the same in 11? If yes, I think this behavior has to be adjusted much better.
2. when dragging up or down, I cannot know the layer name on the left, because it is not scrolling together with the timeline. So if I'm dragging frames to some layer, which is away from the timeline focus, I cannot identify it, and don't know where to drop any more. I believe this has to be fixed too, unless it was fixed in 11...
thanks

this has been fixed in TVP 11

I never had this problem in TVP 10.5 or 11. It might have something to do with the screen resolution ?

Hmm, don't know - it happens on both Cintiq 12" on Windows and on MacBook Pro 17" screen. it's not just that it moves too fast, the problem is that I can't find a good position for the mouse to hover, in order to get the timeline scroll in moderate constant manner. It either gets stuck if I'm not enough at the edge, of scrolls too fast if I'm too close to the edge...

I came across another bug that is related to dragging and dropping frames and seems to be new in TVPaint 11.

When I select several frames, click on the last selected frame and drag the selection the first selected frame jumps to the cursor.
That means if I want to move the selected frames one layer up, I have to either drag the first frame or grab the last frame and then move it all the way to the left.
This is very annoying and did not happen in TVP 10.5.
It only happens when "pop-up for drag and dropping images" is activated, so it probably has something to do with that new feature.
