Re: Hide All Panels shortcut?
Also, if you're on Windows at least, this is a situation where Autohotkey really shines. I have a special Autohotkey script for TVPaint running in the background with all kinds of key reassignments and key combos bound to single keys.

Re: Hide All Panels shortcut?
I found this older thread, but I am ashamed to say that I don't get it at all, even though the words "so simple" are used earlier. Doh! Maybe it's because I am on Mac or using 11.01. I don't know, but I want to make one keystroke to toggle on and off all palettes, including ones I created myself. I can't figure out how to do it from this discussion. If anyone can help get this into my head, I would be most grateful.

I'm also on Mac OS with TVPaint 11.0.1 . I can confirm that hitting the F12 key will toggle-off-toggle-on all tool panels and palettes . (however to toggle the timeline on and off I must also press 0 ... it's a pretty quick maneuver to press one after the other . )
I notice on my Macbook's compact keyboard I have to simultaneously press the fn modifier key with F12 . That shouldn't be an issue with a full-size Mac keyboard , but if you are using a compact wireless keyboard with your iMac then it may require you to press the fn modifier key to activate F12 to toggle the panels on and off.

I confirm David's post, but panels shall not be in drawers : they must be floating elsewhere to be toggled on and off with F12

Okay, Function key and F12 toggles the palettes, BUT, it also made the control bar (play, stop, turn sound on and off...) disappear and I have no idea how to get it back. Aargh! I really need that back, so I hope someone can tell me how to get it to return and then how to use F12 without this happening again. I can't find it in the View menu or the Windows menu. Where is it and why did it disappear??

If your control bar for play, stop , sound on/off , etc. disappears , you can re-enable it from View > Windows.David_Fine wrote:Okay, Function key and F12 toggles the palettes, BUT, it also made the control bar (play, stop, turn sound on and off...) disappear and I have no idea how to get it back. (why it's called "Windows" instead of "Control Bar" or "Playback" , I have no idea) .

Re: Hide All Panels shortcut?
Phew! Thank you so much, DT. I can see why it's called "window" because it's the whole window which disappears, but that includes this control bar (hey, there's a good name for it!) so it would be much better if that was made clear otherwise how would anyone know?
Okay, so now I can restore that, but still, when I use Function and F12, first the "window" disappears and the hit F12 again and the panels disappear (as I want them too). Hit F12 again and the panels reappear, but the "window" does not reappear. So why am I losing the window when I want to just make the panels toggle off and on?

Re: Hide All Panels shortcut?
I agree this seems a bit buggy . Pressing F12 hides the project window (including the play/control bar) and hides all open tool panels, so pressing F12 again should reveal all panels and reveal the project window with the play bar. (without going to View menu > Windows to restore the project window and play bar)David_Fine wrote: Okay, so now I can restore that, but still, when I use Function and F12, first the "window" disappears and the hit F12 again and the panels disappear (as I want them too). Aha! This is confirmation that it is a bug and not me. That makes me feel better. I'm guessing it is only on Macs. Okay, so that another bug to fix. I will have to add that to my other thread about stuff to fix.
