Sorry, I was using "render" wrongly here. I meant exporting images.

We would like to export images and work at the same time. We having a lot of artists using the dongle licenses, and we don't want the artists to have to wait while exporting. We currently use Deadline to export images, on a machine that isn't being used but we would like to use the artists licenses for exporting as well.

Maybe a minimal headless (no ui) command line tool, that can export the images.

All other software I have encountered offer render licenses either included with a workstation licence or sold separately.

Unfortunately, there is no way to do so (exporting and working at the same time). Using a script for an easier export is possible, but however, you will need an extra license to do so (or proceed with export on nights / lunch time).

Are there any plans to support this feature? Either export in the background while being able to work, or having two sessions of tvp open?

Yes it is, but it's not a quick feature. It's a long-time development.
