Having trouble importing an AVI

Post by JQuinn »

I wonder if anyone can help. I'm setting up a new project but having problems when I introduce the avi of the animatic with the audio track. If I import it as a layer with no audio it is fine. I can save and reopen and its still there. BUT if I import it as a clip it appears to save but when I close it down and reopen the project is blank - even if I have created new anim layers within the same project. Also if I have a project with several layers of animation and I then import the avi as a clip it replaces ALL the other layers. Any suggestions about how I should be importing an avi file of the animatic with image and audio, so that it works! I feel like I'm going a bit mad as it was working before!

Thanks

Joanna

PS Tried a .mov and that just goes completely mad.

I think I have found the problem. It was to do with hidden layers, which I could see when the project tab is on instead of Clip:timeline. I'm not sure how or why but I think I've solved it! Thanks to Scott Roberts in the post called "All my frames disappear when I open my saved file!":|
