I can confirm the behavior Peter mentioned and recorded it, even if I don't know why...

yes similar thing, though i never have it while drawing like you show here(knock on wood) its always when coming from somewhere else f.i. keyframer.

to tap the back of the pen i flick it over my thumb till it touches the screen, that way i don't need to turn the whole pen like you do in the video (much faster thus minimizing the hassle)

Oh sorry, I didn't know this could be important. I clicked on a quicktime movie (Quicktime player X) with my stylus and then in the TVPaint window.

Hmm, cannot reproduce it with Capitan, even with several screens and a Cintiq.

Hmmm I guess an update to Capitan wouldn't be a good idea, so is there maybe some Mac in your office with Yosemite or Mavericks installed?

Indeed : between upgrading to Capitan or breaking my leg, I should have chosen the second option.

My other colleagues are busy at the moment, they will run some tests later or on Monday

Are there any news about this issue?
I tried upgrading to el capitan but I'm keeping having the same problem here too.. this is so annoying, each time I "go out" of tvp and come back I have to click randomly with the mouse and the cintiq stylus till the pen doesn't work again.
I tried both in osx 10.10 and 10.11 and with a cintiq companion hybrid and a cintiq 24 hd and the problem is always there..

Are you in "mirror display" mode ? I have a similar issue only when I'm using this mode.

I still got this problem without a mirrored display and it seems it has nothing to do with the quicktime player, but maybe with the quicktime frameworks? Since this problem persists using DJV instead of the quicktime player

I'm not in mirror display mode neither, I have an "extended display" through different monitors
