Weird TvPaint Reset Leading To Broken File? (Solved)

Post by Bop »

Hello! I have TVPaint 11 Standard, version 11.0.2, and it's downloaded on a 64 bit Asus EEE Slate EP121 Tablet PC. I have Windows 7. Since my tablet is a little old, sometimes the stylus disconnects from the tablet and doesn't work right, so I turn my tablet off and back on. I did this recently, making SURE to save my Tvpaint file before I quit, but when I booted my tablet back up again, Tvpaint was acting strange. I didn't think to get any screenshots, but the workspace had seemed to be completely reset itself, and the strangest thing was that the color wheel had shrunk in size and I couldn't fix it. :shock: At this point I couldn't open any files. I removed the dongle several times before finally manually resetting the workspace, returning the color wheel to its normal size again. I could open every file but the one I had open (and clearly know I saved and quit the program) when the stylus went out of whack. Whenever I open the file, Tvpaint becomes unresponsive. I've heard that if a file gets corrupted you get a message that says "Bad File"? Is this the file or the program? Is there anything I did to prompt this reset? Does anyone have any ideas? :(

Hello Bop, that's a weird behaviour, indeed !

Have you tried to reset your config ? To do so, when opening TVPaint, hold "Ctrl" to display the Starting panel. You can reset the config here by hitting "delete".

http://www.tvpaint.com/doc/tvp11/index. ... nces-start" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then, try to open your file.

Thank you so much for responding. :) Unfortunately, it didn't work. Every other file is working, I don't understand what's wrong. Should I send you the file?

We did manage to recover some data, but not a lot, as most of it was lost.
You should have recieved a link to download what we were able to recover.
