not all the time,
some tvp files are make a problem like this.
where is edge dots?

Click and drag on the "Z" on top of the timelines, this enlarges/reduces the timeline view, the handles will reappear.
TVP 10.0.18 and 11.0 MacPro Quadcore 3GHz 16GB OS 10.6.8 Quicktime 7.6.6
