Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly Topic is solved
Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
When I try to slowly move an Out-of-Pegs drawing, it often gets "stuck" and is not moving properly (especially when I zoom in on a drawing). Precise moving gets really tedious.
It is also happening in the 32bit version.
I am guessing that it is a bug ?

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
Same problem here, it's difficult to move precisely an OOP drawing cause it gets stuck so I sometimes use the numbers instead.
I always found that the out of peg function in TVPaint is really heavy and sometimes slows me down while i would be a piece of cake with real paper. I think it has to do with animating in high resolution.
I really need smooth and precise moving, even if it's slow it has to follow the mouse correctly and it will be "enough".
And we don't talk about having to layers with the light table active at the same time, or flipping the drawings. But I understand it's a really heavy module when you mess with pixels and transparancy and not just vectorial strokes.
I was thinking that i don't really need to see the move in real time (maybe we can have an option for this), i just click on the part i'll use as a reference for the OOP (like the nose) and drag it on the nose of my other frame. So if i just click on the right position of the nose of my OOP drawing and drag it on the nose of the other drawing, then it recalculates just after releasing the click, I think i'll save a lot of time.
And for me an anchor point to scale and rotate is something really important too (when I need to OOP a head or a hand that is moving in space, rotating and scaling, i just can't have it right except by guessing the rotate and scale numbre and repositioning it afterward to see if i was right. So i often don't use this possibility, and it's really sad.).

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
Even in a project with a resolution of 100x100px it gets stuck so I am guessing it not resolution dependent.NathanOtano wrote:I think it has to do with animating in high resolution

Can you record this ?

Sure, here is a video:

Try to drag the OOP drawing slowly to recreate it.

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
Me neither ! O_o
(I've tried both with my mouse and my tablet)
I see you don't have a guideline enable, so I absolutely have no clue of the reasons that make this issue occurring.

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
As I said above. Even in a new project with just one layer and 3 frames and a resolution of 100x100px, I still have the problem.
I drawing also gets stuck when I move it slowly with the trackpad.

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
Do you have the same issue when your move the OOP with digits ?
Do you also experience the same slowness when panning the canvas with Alt key ?

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
How can I do that? I think I have changed the digits to something else. Where can I find it in the shortcut list?Elodie wrote:Do you have the same issue when your move the OOP with digits ?
No, it is moving smoothly.Elodie wrote:Do you also experience the same slowness when panning the canvas with Alt key ?

Re: Out-of-Peg drawing is not moving smoothly
I've this issue as well with the OOP feature, it can be quite annoying.
I assumed that it only happened with higher resolution projects.

Hmmm, so the issue in multi OS, but not on all OS...
That will be harder to fix if the problem cannot be visible everywhere...

Do you have it, whether you use mouse or tablet ?
