soundtrack drawer does not have control or functionality Topic is solved

Hi all

I'm just starting out with TV paint (vers 11.0.3, Mac OSX 10.11.4), and am struggling to navigate around the interface.
I can't find the buttons for the Master soundtrack or the music notes, and when I right clicked on the track I loaded to split the sound that didn't work either. Is there something I've toggled off by mistake?
Here is a screenshot, you can see there is no Master icon, or musical notes icon. I loaded a single sound track to test if the sound drawer functionality only appeared when a track was loaded, but it doesn't, you can just see the .wav I've loaded, there is nothing else in the sound drawer above it and I can't load another soundtrack.
How do I find the sound functionality to do all this?

Just realised, I have TV Paint Standard edition, so assume there is no Master sound button! I think it would help in the tutorials to mention whether a function exists in Standard or Professional edition, as that is a bit confusing.

That is confusing. So, yes, with Standard edition you can only load ONE soundtrack at at time , not multiple soundtracks as in Pro edition, which can be split and edited (audio fades, overlaps). So for Standard you don't have a Master , because there's only ONE soundtrack.

A workaround for having only one soundtrack at time would be to do this:

Let's say you're animating a scene that has dialogue ... load the dialogue soundtrack and make your notations for the phonetic breakdown of dialogue frame by frame in the Timeline Notes area above the Soundtrack area .... then if you also have music or sound effects track where you need to animate in sync to certain sound effects or animate to a certain tempo to hit the main beats in the music you would load in the sound effects track and make notations in the Timeline Notes for which frames the sound effects occur on (for example: from frame 49 - 55 there is a loud CRASH sound as the character drops a plate on the floor and it breaks) ... then if you also have beats in the music track that you need to hit load the Music track and mark off the frames where the main beats are hitting (every 8 frames or every 12 frames , every 24 frames, whatever it may be ) . After having made all your notations on the Timeline Notes for Dial. , Sound efx , Music beats , you can take your three tracks and mix them down to a single track in Audacity or Adobe Audition , then load that mixed track into TVPaint . That's a bit time consuming , but not too hard once you get the hang of it . Your notations in the Timeline Notes area will help you to keep from getting muddled about where a certain sound (either dialogue or a music beat or a sound effect) occurs.

Dialogue notations in the Timeline Notes can be written in Black , Sound EFX notations can be in Red , Music notations can be in Blue .
