Re: TVPaint crashes when trying to scan
Don't scan with TVPaint, especially with the 64 bit version. I don't even know why the option is still there.
Scan with Mac OS built-in application and import in TVPaint : https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204790" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: TVPaint crashes when trying to scan
Even better : get VueScan for scanning . VueScan's interface is much better and has more options for image adjustement than most of the scanner interfaces that come out of the box with the scanner. (I'm looking at your Brother , Mustek, and HP ) Scan all your drawings and save to a folder , then import the scanned images to TVPaint.Elodie wrote:Don't scan with TVPaint, especially with the 64 bit version. Although you mentioned you have an Epson GT-15000 scanner , so the EpsonScan software in Pro mode is very good . Do they still include EpsonScan with their scanners ? (my Epson is an older model , so it still uses the EpsonScan interface ... maybe they have something new now ? )

Re: TVPaint crashes when trying to scan
Ayyy, that was exactly my point - the Apple built in scanning software su...*** ehmmm - is lame. I was searching for a better alternative and thought to give it a try in TVPElodie wrote:Don't scan with TVPaint, especially with the 64 bit version. I don't even know why the option is still there.

all tight then - so now you know the option is still there
Hah, that was exactly my frustration - Epson does not longer provide software for OSX higher than v10.6 forcing me to use Image Capture, which , compared to Epson's software, is a child's play. I tried VueScan already - looks good, but 40$ for normal version and 90$ for pro - really? That's too much for something that should actually be out of the box... I don't even know who to be angry at - Epson, or Apple :/D.T. Nethery wrote: Even better : get VueScan for scanning . When I stumbled across this option on TVP I suddenly had a tiny spark of hope...
well, anyway, I will have to live with that for now

Try to install the 32 bit version, but honestly I'm afraid it won't work much better

Re: TVPaint crashes when trying to scan
EpsonScan was a great scanning interface ... why did they have to stop making it ? Probably because it could no longer function under Mac OS (curse you ,Apple !) But then I wonder: why couldn't Epson just write a new version of EpsonScan that would work with the current Mac OS instead of being lazy and forcing their customers use Apple Image Capture (which is ok for casual scanning , but not a professional production line application) I'm mad at both of them.Soom wrote:Hah, that was exactly my frustration - Epson does not longer provide software for OSX higher than v10.6 forcing me to use Image Capture, which , compared to Epson's software, is a child's play. Yes, VueScan is pricey , but to me it is worth the price .
