Pen stuck on erase

Every time I go to select the pen brush tool, it is set to eraser, not colour. I change it to colour and use it, use another tool and then click again on the pen brush and it's back as eraser. Any idea why it keeps changing to eraser and how to make it stay on colour?

Hi David!

Do you use pen brush from a custom panel or from tool panel ? To me, it sounds like you are using a brush from a custom panel, which is actually a pen brush set as an eraser.

It's from the Tool Panel direct. I click on the Main Panel Stroke Tool and then the Pen Brush in the Tool Panel and it is always on Erase, as pictured.

that is not normal behaviour.

does the erase color mode maybe somehow get triggered in another way?
is your keyboard shortcut for it also F4?

It is F4. I literally just click on the tool and it is in erase mode. Not near the keyboard. And sometimes it will be in the Colour mode, but mostly it seems to go to Erase.

Well, record us a video and we might see what's going wrong.

And try a restart, it is know to sometimes fix mysterious behaviour.
