link custom brush to specific paper

Post by Annelies »

I've been experimenting with creating my own brushes, and am getting quite happy with the results.
After looking on the forums I found out how to set paper on or off for each specific brush with this bit of code

Code: Select all

tv_paper Active 0
However every brush really requires a differnt type of paper,
so I was wondering if it is possible to also insert a line of script to activate a specific paper (perhaps with paper settings?) for each brush.

Try this: tv_Paper ACTIVE 1 NAME cement_07 // which makes cement_07 the current paper

If you go to this Wiki.tvpaint.com page you will find all of the parameters that you can use to activate the paper you want and customize any and all of the paper's qualities.

Add the tv_paper command to any custom brush button you want paper with. For any custom brush buttons where you specifically DON'T WANT PAPER, you will have to include a line that says tv_Paper ACTIVE 0.

When you grab a custom brush in a custom pane, you can choose the option "Grab brush with colours". The brush will keep both colours and the paper's settings (which paper, hardness, size, angle, etc.).

If you want to get rid of colours and the paper only, make a right click on the icon of the brush you've just grabbed -> edit > and in the list of action, delete colours A and B.
