Different Document Sizes within one project

Hi, I'm Jimmy. New to TV Paint. Love it! But I'm still figuring out how some of the finer intricasies of it work.

I'm currently importing jpgs I've drawn to turn make them into Storyboards through the program. In my boards, some of the panels are like, two 1080p panels stacked on top of one another for a Pan. But in the next scene/clip, it's back to that 1080p aspect ratio.

My question is, since one of my panels is a big pan, does the rest of the document's size have to use those same dimensions for the rest of the file? Is there a way to change it?

Also, what's a good dimension to work in? I see a lot of people use like 150% up and stuff like that. But I've also seen some animators have like, two 1080p panels stacked together, and my guess is they use Camera or just edit it in post in After Effects.

I dunno, like I said, still new. :) Any help appreciated. Thanks!

Any TVP document can only have one size (dimension in px). If you use Pro, you can use the camera tool to restrict the rendered output to your final project size, while working in a larger size allowing for pans etc.

Usually, they will use the camera as a guide (as Slowtiger explained) and will work later on a precise movement on after effects, nuke, or any other compositing software.

What I do while I'm within TVPaint is working with my format Size (with somme margins cause it's always welcome) and if I need to do a big camera movement I do it in a separate projet and then render the camera (project:render camera to...) to put it in my first project. You can also export the image sequence in a folder and import it without PreLoad so it updates automatically in your first project when you export it again (except the first image that is buggy, but doing this you can avoid having to copy/paste everytime. Just begin your clip and sequence on image 2 and it will be fine).
