Is there a way to set Start Frame to 1 by default?

Post by Soom »

I realized, that in TVP 11, every time I start a new project, the Start Frame is always 0. Each time I have to change this to 1 in the Start Frame menu, which is a bit annoying. I can't see a way to make it default behavior. I remember, that in TVP 10.5 I could set it by default, can't remember where - I think in the Startup Settings in Preferences

It doesn't stay - every time I start or open a project, it sets to 0 again...

This is very strange - after Elodie answered, I tried it again, and now it stays on 1! really strange, because it didn't work before. Magic? Or maybe I need more sleep ... :)

If you open a scene that was saved with start frame = 0, it will always with start frame = 0 until you change it and save the file.

However, Thierry found out yesterday that if you import a footage, it always start at 0 by default, which shouldn't be the case if your previous file was not starting at 0.

Indeed, but this happens only when you import a footage as a new project: if you import it as a new clip, the Starting Frame value is saved.
It's in the to-do list anyway :)

Ok, now I see - that's exactly what happened, because I work a lot with external footage and very often import files into new projects, as I find it the most convenient and fast way to work. It would be very nice if Start Frame could always stay on 1 - I never use 0 numbering... (I also hate it in Video editing software :))

+1 .

But the option is still there for the user to set it to start at frame 0 if they prefer that . Whatever the user sets as their preferred Start , either 1 or 0 , is used by TVPaint every time for importing footage into new projects or layers on existing projects , until such time as the user deliberately changes the Start .
