TVPaint's Light Table is absolutely phenomenal; for instance its latest feature is off-pegging. You can view up to 10 backward and forward frames by selecting "frames", or to any length forward and bacward when you select "Instance" (probably the most used selection) or you can even bookmark images and see just those in the Bookmark mode. You can select your backward and forward colors colors to any color you wish, including gradient so that your diminishing frames fade not just in strength but in color tone as well. Where is this light table? You open it by pressing the light bulb icon at the top left of the screen.

Any drawing tool can be set to erase. Look at the little window below the Tool: panel where it probably says color right now. Change that to erase. Ask away because there's more you'll like, such as the ease with which you can create your own pencils, erasers with your own icons in something called the Custom Panel.

And the Erase is in fact a mode for you brush, like Color, behind, tint, multiply etc...
It means any brush can be what you want.

Eraser TIP: Select the oilBrush tool to be you eraser -- you'll never want to use the oil tube in any other way anyway. To make just the eraser you want (or several of them to save in the bin), click on the B&W square that looks like a diving flag and your profile editor will open. Drag the middle of the diagonal line to the bottom to create a flat eraser. The shape represents just half of your tool tip. Set percentages of pressure (Power) or click on the little P box to find all sorts of other options. If you select None, your little box will show the letter "C" which stands for Connection Settings. Those you can set by opening OPTIONS in the same drop down menu.
