But it also stretched our creative muscles: to create something out of an alien ( in the sense that it did not come from one's own head) image that one could then take ownership of in the final piece.
peace.

Er ? … Yeees ! …
("peace" is always the final piece, anyway :D )

We did that kind of exercices in my school of art … when it was ruled by "68'ards" teatcher's…
(Paris, a long time ago  )
They called it : "A.E.V"
(for : "Appréhension de l'Espace Vécu")
I'm not sure to be able to translate it… as long as I'm still wondering what we were exactly "messing around" :D

We had to remove our shoes, touch the carpet with our toes… and tell what we felt !
(Geeez !… I was supposed to be a student in one of the best schools in Paris… and my parents were'nt that rich ! :D )

I'm kidding,… we learned a lot, of course…
(were it only to change our socks more often)

Anyway… let's open your shakras, sister ! :D
( your exercice looks more "neo-flower children" than communist to me… )

It's a very nice job ! (good vib's  )… keep 'em coming !

("stable"… do you mean that place overcrowded with cows ? :D )

Ahhh, peace.

wot's a 68'ard, pleeze?

I think it was for the same reason - to create something out of something "alien" if I were to hazard a guess.

We had to remove our shoes, touch the carpet with our toes… and tell what we felt !
(Geeez !… I was supposed to be a student in one of the best schools in Paris… and my parents were'nt that rich ! :D )

ah - to be in Paris in the 68's ! Wish I were there. As it was (were)my first art school was in Massachusetts - in the 68's, no collaboration there, let me tell you! We were in intense competition for commercial art ( as it was called then) jobs and I rebelled, being the good :? child of the 60's. Only to find I was wrong and wish I had stayed stable.

I'm kidding,… we learned a lot, of course…

good idea!!

ah-HA! I should have known- my limited high-school French was not my strong suite, however..
I was thinking to start a drawing and then whoever was interested could add to it, post it and the next person could grab it, add to it, post it, and so on.
Have any idea how to grab an image from here and do that?
